Description:
Core Functions:

* Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment.
* Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
* Greets and prepares patients for treatment.
* Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures as needed.
* Attend and contribute to daily huddle.
* Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings.
* Speak, understand, and write grammatically correct English.
* Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of dentistry.
* Introduce each new patient to other team members (2 – 1 Transfer).
* Promote treatment plans and encourage patients to begin treatment.

Essential Functions:

* Maintain patient comfort and be sensitive to patient's real or imagined fear of being alone in the treatment room.
* Oversee darkroom, solution supplies, and equipment.
* Demonstrate exceptional manual dexterity.
* Ability to complete tasks within time frame.
* Turn on and off each day the x-ray macing, compressor, lights, water, nitrous oxide, and oxygen tanks, and suction systems.
* Clean and sterilize instruments and burs.
* Oil hand pieces and sterilize according to manufacturers guidelines.
* Sterilize hand pieces and disinfect opertories after each patient.
* Enter complete treatment plan into each chart.
* Prepare impressions and/or models for the lab.
* Make temporaries.
* Take, develop, and mount x-rays.

Requirements

* Prior DA experience required.
* EFDA experience necessary.
* Strong customer service ethic.
* MUST have 3yr + of dental office experience or Certificate from Accredited Dental Assisting Program.
* Good communication skills
