Description:
I am a senior dental school student at West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, West Virginia. I am going to graduate in May 2009 and I am seeking for a position as an associate GP.

My dental school emphasizes the clinical and practical aspects of dentistry. Hence, I was exposed to all phases of patient treatments since the summer of freshman year.
Throughout the dental school years, I gained competency in a variety of dental operations including restorative procedures, fixed and removable prosthodontics, non-surgical periodontal therapies, endodontics, and simple extractions. I am also strong at formulating a treatment plan for each patient so that the comprehensive series of treatments to the patient is delivered in a more convenient and efficient manner.

WVU also offers me a rural site rotation program for six weeks during my senior year. Each student is assigned to a private dental practice in a rural area of the state where students gain a valuable opportunity to practice dentistry in the real world setting. This experience will enhance my ability to treat patients under the minimum supervision of the dentist during the time. According to the preceptor dentist, the practice that I am going to work for has a many pediatric patients. The rural rotation shall also improve my clinical skills in the pediatric dentistry including behavioral management of children.

I can fluently communicate both in English and Korean. I can work flexibly time-wise, e.g. working late in the evening or working on Saturdays. In practice, I will try my best to provide patients with proper education and involvement through trust and respect in the relationship.
