# BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Education: Degree in dental surgery (D.D.S.) or dental medicine (D.M.D.) from a school approved by the Council on Dental Education, American Dental Association (ADA); or other dental school, provided the education and knowledge acquired was substantially equivalent to that of graduates from an ADA-approved school. Licensure: Applicants must be currently licensed to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico. Experience and/or training must be one of the following types: a) Post-licensure professional experience in the general practice of dentistry. b) Approved internship training. c) Approved residency training. d) Graduate-level study in an accredited dental school. e) Post-licensure professional experience in a specialized area of practice. f) Other advanced study or training (outside a dental school or hospital) creditable towards satisfaction of training program requirements for Board eligibility. IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS, APPLICANTS MUST ALSO MEET THE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Qualified candidates for this job must show in their resume that they have experience in the following areas:---1) Extensive professional knowledge of dentistry sufficient to perform work in specialized areas. 2) Professional knowledge of principles, practices, and theories of dentistry sufficient to treat and diagnose very difficult cases. 3) Extensive knowledge and skill sufficient to diagnose and treat very difficult cases that include patient-behavior and patient-management problems. 4) Exceptional skill in interpersonal relationships in handling patients with special behavior problems and dealing with patient-management problems. 5) Knowledge and ability to implement human resource management and EEO programs and communicate requirements to subordinate employees. NOTE: This position is an inclement weather essential position. Employee will be required to provide on-call emergency dental treatment during non-duty work hours on a scheduled rotating basis. Employee must be a graduate of an Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry - 2 year program accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Dental Accreditation and have three years of clinical experience as a comprehensive dentist and/or training equivalent to at least that of Board eligible for the American Board of General Dentistry. Employee must be currently certified to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), possess the skill and physical ability to administer CPR, and must maintain CPR certification while employed. Subject to Displaced Employee Program. This position is subject to credentialing.
